Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the BevSync platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users, including Organization Owners, Managers, and team members.

BevSync is designed to help bars, restaurants, and hospitality businesses manage inventory, optimize costs, and make better purchasing decisions. This policy ensures the platform remains reliable, accurate, and fair for all users.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use BevSync to:

2a. Platform Misuse

  • Scraping or data mining — systematically extract, harvest, or collect data from the platform using automated tools, scripts, bots, or manual bulk methods
  • Reverse engineering — decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service
  • Credential sharing — share your login credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account
  • Automated access — access the Service via automated means (bots, crawlers, scripts) without prior written permission from BevSync, except through our documented API for plans that include API access
  • Circumventing limits — bypass or attempt to bypass subscription plan limits on locations, products, team members, or features
  • Interfering with the Service — introduce malware, overload infrastructure, attempt denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise disrupt platform availability for other users

2b. Data & Privacy Violations

  • Unauthorized access — attempt to access another Organization's data, circumvent multi-tenancy isolation, or exploit vulnerabilities in access controls
  • Submitting false data — intentionally enter inaccurate information into the platform that could mislead other users or corrupt the Shared Catalog
  • Privacy violations — use the platform to collect, store, or process personal information in violation of applicable privacy laws

2c. Illegal or Harmful Use

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose, including violating applicable alcohol laws or regulations
  • Use the platform to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any other financial crime
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, BevSync staff, or any third party through the platform

3. Shared Catalog Rules

The Shared Catalog is a platform-wide database of beverage brands, products, distributors, and wholesale pricing maintained by BevSync. All users benefit from and contribute to its accuracy. The following rules apply:

  • No fake pricing — do not upload fabricated, intentionally inaccurate, or manipulated pricing data to distributor price lists or other imports that feed into the Shared Catalog
  • No catalog manipulation — do not attempt to manipulate product matching, artificially inflate or deflate pricing data, or game the catalog matching algorithms
  • No mass extraction — do not bulk-export, scrape, or systematically extract Shared Catalog data for use outside the BevSync platform
  • Platform use only — Shared Catalog data may only be viewed and used within BevSync. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or sell Shared Catalog data to third parties or use it in competing products
  • Good faith contributions — when importing distributor price lists, do so in good faith using legitimate source documents. BevSync reserves the right to review, correct, or remove Shared Catalog entries that appear inaccurate or manipulated

4. API Usage

API access is available on Professional and Enterprise plans. If you use the BevSync API, the following additional rules apply:

  • Respect rate limits — excessive API calls that degrade service for other users may result in throttling or suspension
  • Do not use the API to circumvent platform features, subscription limits, or access controls
  • API credentials must be kept confidential and not shared with unauthorized parties
  • API access is for your Organization's own use — do not use the API to build competing products or services

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, or if you discover a security vulnerability, please report it immediately to support@bevsync.net. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

6. Consequences of Violation

BevSync reserves the right to take action against users who violate this policy. Actions are taken at our discretion and may include:

LevelActionDetails
1. WarningWritten noticeEmail notification describing the violation and required corrective action
2. Temporary SuspensionAccount restrictedTemporary suspension of account access pending investigation or corrective action; data is retained during suspension
3. Permanent TerminationAccount terminatedPermanent removal from the platform for severe or repeated violations; data export will be made available before deletion where feasible

The severity of the response depends on the nature and impact of the violation. BevSync may skip directly to suspension or termination for severe violations (e.g., unauthorized data access, malware introduction, or illegal activity) without prior warning.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
